Thu - June 27, '18 (Note 1) today is the day excitement all around awfully hot. We have been here ten months today. start for the train at 3:30 and get on at 4:45 and now we are on our way. Had cookies dished out to us at Centralia. Eat supper near Kelso got to Portland at 9:30 go to bed didn't go thru Portland at all. Mailed a card to every one I know from Kelso(2) |
Fri - June 28, '18 woke up at Echo Oregon. desolate looking country. start a collection of the names of girls. exercises at La Grande and eat dinner on leaving there. crossed the Ore.-Idaho lines at 5:oclock and set our watches to 6: for Mountain time eat supper on leaving Huntington Ore. Had a royal reception at Weiser Idaho the first one since we left Centralia go to bed early, as I am rather sleepy. |
